  • Beschreibung: A Soldato Class destroyer passes with the coast in the background. A silhouette view of a Re Umberto Class battleship firing its forward 13.5-inch guns. Three torpedo boats manoeuvre, the leader is possibly an Orione Class, the others Nembo Class. The crew of the camera-ship, possibly a Re Umberto, fire a torpedo, then a 6-pounder gun, to port, then the ship's main 13.5-inch armament to starboard. A broadside from an armoured cruiser, possibly Vettor Pisani Class. A 13.5-inch barbette fires from a Re Umberto. Battleships in line ahead, stern on, the nearest being a Re Umberto. Battleships in line ahead, bows on, the nearest being Regina Margherita Class. A Re Umberto with a second Re Umberto steaming a parallel course. An observation balloon shown flying from the protected cruiser Elba. Armed picket boats steam past the camera towing rowing boats, with a Giuseppe Garibaldi Class battleship in the background. A demonstration of torpedo firing - a ship dead in the water launches a torpedo against a towed target, about the size of a motor boat, at about 200 metres range. The ship fires too soon and just catches the bow of the slowly-moving target. The camera-ship takes on coal, then rations, including a cow in a sling transferred onto the ship. Onshore, a Marine detachment fires a very small mountain gun, which recoils jumping up as it is fired.
